I will watch...some scientists theorize that the universe has been expanding and contracting for eons.This expansion and contraction is not purely harmonic. Each successive expansion reaches farther while each successive contraction fails to replicate the original mass by a greater magnitude. This means that there is a beginning that cannot be replicated - ever.

If they can’t work out the details of those moments shortly after the big bang, how can they scope out what the universe was BEFORE the big bang?

The oscillating universe has been abandoned by just about everyone in the know. Dark matters has done away with that theory.
