Not Christian?
Please tell me, then, what kind of church was the Serbian Orthodox Church I attended today? Hindu? We prayed for the American armed forces and the President, as we do at every Divine Liturgy. We prayed to the Holy Trinity. We recited the Nicean Creed. What is it about the Orthodox Church that makes it non-Christian?
We prayed that war would not break out in Kosovo and that God would deliver the Serbian people from the Muslim yoke, which they endured for 500 years before.
You’ve watched? From where have you watched? What are your credentials that make you such an expert? CNN? Or perharps you were deployed in Kosovo after the bombing and the Serbs weren’t waving American flags for you. Do you speak *any* of the variants of Serbo-Croatian, or is that a “monkey language” to someone so evolved? How about Albanian?
The Serbs were Christian long before most of our Western ancestors could read.
Some of the Serbs were forced out of Kosovo by the communist government in the 1980s, which supported the ethnic cleansing of Serbs from the region since Serbs were the least trusted ethnic groups by the communists. The saw America as their great friend. Now they’ve been betrayed. They are going to the only country offering help, Russia.
The Serbs don’t trust the Russians, but the betrayal by the United States has been very bitter.
I would suggest you either get an education or find a past time in which you can be successful.
JasonC is a Turkish left over from the Balkans!
the best things is just to ignore him!
Don’t worry my friend. There are many on FR with more common sense than idiots like Jason C. I know several brave Americans who have served in Kosovo and they all thought quite simply - “The Serbs got screwed on that Kosovo deal.” And this was years ago before Kosovo declared independence.
