More blog stuff than real “news” I guess.

There is for sure a high level of antisemitism in France but why does France have one of the largest jews population in the world?

French jews, like from any other place, are free to move to Israel. The vast majority has decided to stay, so the “Hitler” thing may be a little bit exagerated.

The state of Florida alone reports more antisemite incidents than a country like France.

Largest? Yes, they are the third "largest" with a whopping 3.8% of the world's Jews living in France. Almost half of the French Jews there now are historically new to the country. They ran to France after the 1967 "Six Day War" from countries that would have persecuted them or murdered them if they stayed.

The number of physical attacks against Jews, including children and adolescents, doubled compared to 2005. These events include vicious murders and brutal beatings.

And they do leave, more now than since WWII. Since the latest wave of Jew-hatred, the numbers of Jews leaving France have increased at least 6 fold. I know a number of French Jews too. They left France for exactly these reasons. So, not so exaggerated at all.

The state of Florida alone reports more antisemitic incidents than a country like France.

A total of 179 incidents were reported across Florida in 2006, with 142 incidents of harassment and 37 incidents of vandalism. In France, in 2006 there were a documented 594 anti-Semitic incidents in 2006. The number of physical attacks against Jews, including children and adolescents, doubled compared to 2005. And- these attacks included vicious murders and gang beatings.

Florida- not quite...
