There are only two choices. bad and worse. That’s the reality.

"But in exchange for my vote for McCain, I want something in return. I want McCain's solemn oath to the American people that if elected, he will: "

Yeah. That would be nice. But you are more likely to get a "Grow up. Shut up and tow the party line." That seems to be the template used by McCain followers to woo support. Followed, of course, by the name calling. And McCain has given no indication he would do any such thing.

He’s not going to pick Jeb Bush or Crist. He will win FL against Obama no matter who he picks.

I thought it was just me, but you seem to detect also that his wife may be a little bit of a racist.

McCain has to apologize for his past support of amnesty and sign a pledge never again to support amnesty or any sneaky substitute before I’ll vote for him. Not voting for Obama or Hillary, either.

The writer is saying a vote for mccain is an endorsement for the leftward movement of the republicans. You need to improve your reading. But if you are really a lefty then I understand your approval.

In the long run, which is which?

All true. Plus he'll probably name some Warmist ecotard like Pawlenty or Crist as his running mate; that won't help matters any.

If people think they will get anything different from McCain, then all I can say is, if he gets elected, I can’t wait to hear the wails and see the gnashing of teeth.

Ever heard of McCain Feingold.

Clue

Do what you need to do. I am not disparaging your choice. osama must be stopped. McCain is not going to make it 4 years. Maybe he will make a wise choice for VP.

I will vote for McCain although at first I said I couldn’t. After hearing Obama’s 45 minute speech, I realized how dangerous he is.

I can’t see handing 8 years of the presidency to communists. If congress is loaded with leftists, and the president is a communist, our country will never be the same.

Essentially, we will have to choose between a communist (Clinton or Obama) and a democrat who’s a very few steps to the right of them (McCain). Unbelievable.

Her comment about being scared when ever her husband goes into a convenient store reflects her real feelings about white people.

The saddest part is any real danger he'd face on such a trip would much more likely be black on black crime.

Politics is not the art of the possible. Often it consists in choosing between the unpalatable and the disastrous.

Obama Proposes “Labor Battalions” [semi-satire]

In a move the candidate characterized as having the dual purpose of restoring “a sense of community” and “combating obesity,” Senator Barack Obama (D-Ill) said one of his first policy initiatives if he is elected president will be to ask for legislation establishing government-run “labor battalions” wherein people will be called upon to “toil for the collective benefit of society.”

“Americans have become too self-centered, too greedy,” Obama said. “This isn’t their fault. Our society doesn’t insist that they put aside their petty personal concerns for the good of the whole. As president I will be giving Americans the opportunity to do just that.”

While all the details of this proposal haven’t been laid out, the gist of the plan calls for every working American to contribute one month a year to community projects. “People will get their hands dirty investing their sweat for a better America,” Obama rhapsodized. “They’ll be out in the fresh air getting exercise, too.”

Those reluctant to contribute to the effort “will be asked to attend special education sessions to try to help them overcome their selfish aversion to work for the common good,” Obama continued. “We will change America, one soul at a time if that’s what it takes.”

McCain means it will make a profit for him in the way of campaign donations.
