From NBC/NJs Aswini Anburajan AUSTIN, Texas -- In the shadow of the state capitol that provided the United States with one of the most conservative presidents in recent history, Obama last night railed against the charge that being "liberal" was a bad thing.
"Oh, he's liberal, he said. He's liberal. Let me tell you something. There's nothing liberal about wanting to reduce money in politics that is common sense. There's nothing liberal about wanting to make sure [our soldiers] are treated properly when they come home.
Continuing on his riff: "There's nothing liberal about wanting to make sure that everybody has healthcare, but we are spending more on healthcare in this country than any other advanced country. We got more uninsured. There's nothing liberal about saying that doesn't make sense, and we should so something smarter with our health care system. Don't let them run that okie doke on you!"

I understand he was even worse, if that's possible, as a state senator representing Chicago.
Your platform is a reincarnation of FDR:
The most recent piece of legislation you put forward is extremely socialist. Why give the the UN .07% of our GDP to reduce world poverty? The bill states the goal is to reduce global world poverty 50% by 2015. This guy is an idiot. Giving money(as we currently do) is akin to giving money from the bank to robbers without them doing the robbery.
The church he went to since his days as a community organizer is an anti-semitic and racist church.
barry hussein is the anti christ....
now your trying that all okie doke lol
The bottom line is that the people need to wise up to the MAJOR problem of a federal government that is not operating within the restraints of the federal Constitution, a consequence of FDR's dirty politics. Bluntly put, the people need to quit sitting on their hands and send big-shot, constitution-ignoring federal spenders like Obama and Clinton home instead of trying to put people like them in the Oval Office.
“...We got more uninsured...”
During the debates I had a real hard time listening to this “eloquent” speaker.
“We got to do this, we got to do that...”
Dont let me run that okie doke on you? He is now sounding more and more like his wife and this is a good thing! FIND THE BUTTONS AND KEEP ON PRESSING.
Ahhh and now, some chinks are beginning to show...how tender the skin under them appears to be as well. >;o)
barry is an FDR/Wilson wanna-be and that is not going to fly!
Good call, Oprahbama! You are admitting that liberals want our soldiers mistreated when they come back.
Since none of the things you advocate are liberal, Barak, what are you a conservative????? What BS.
They are starting to get under his skin. From the speech:
“I wouldn’t be here if I wasn’t tough, Obama said. Nobody gave me Listen I’m a black guy named Barack Obama running for president. You cant tell me I ain’t tough. Shoot!”
Further:
Obama acknowledged the criticism of the enthusiasm that’s risen in recent weeks. “And ya know what? Well they make fun of you all too by the way, Obama said. They make fun of you guys. They say, All these people who are following Obama they’re delusional. They just like pretty words, they don’t really understand what’s going on. Lets get real.
Barak is starting to sound a bit angry, ya think??
“They make fun of you guys...”
Developing the us against them mentality of a cult leader.
How has that same strategy worked for Republicans?
Nah. Goldwater was from Arizona. Must be somebody else.
Would you call Bush 41 and 43 extreme conservatives?
I don't know if I would call it republican strategy, but yes, it has worked, embracing the middle to some degree pays off in winning elections. Obamanation is an extreme liberal.
McCain is certainly in the middle or left on many things.
But there is also some conservative meat there too. You have to look for it though the liberal gristle perhaps. I think he can beat B. Hussien.
I have no idea who the author is talking about? Do you? There have been no conservative Presidents from Texas that I'm aware of, at least in recent history.
They were not Senators, but had actual gov't executive experience.
Eugene Debs was an out and out marxist. Calling him a liberal is paying him a compliment. (well, a compliment to his memory at least)
shillary is also a marxist.
obamassiah, on the other hand, is "marxism squared"
“There’s nothing liberal about wanting to make sure that everybody has healthcare...”
Yes. It’s called socialism.
“The reason this country continues its drift toward socialism and big nanny government is because too many people vote in the expectation of getting something for nothing, not because they have a concern for what is good for the country. A better educated electorate might change the reason many persons vote. If children were forced to learn about the Constitution, about how government works, about how this nation came into being, about taxes and about how government forever threatens the cause of liberty perhaps we wouldn’t see so many foolish ideas coming out of the mouths of silly old men.”

” agree completely.Thats why I respect Obama “
