We don’t have to take them seriously.
We do not live there.
But if they want to keep their heads attached to their shoulders, they do.
I see a distinction between taking them seriously, and understanding the seriousness of the situation. It’s a serious situation, no doubt. But how can they expect not to be immortalised in cartoons when they act like this? They are jokes.
