Used to be a $25 bounty on the snakes but I never knew anyone who turned in more than a couple. Must have been some type of limit.

The snakes used to be the biggest threat to the Koko ( a flightless bird also known as the Guam Rail ) as it would eat their eggs. Never could run over a Koko as I was always in an underpowered vehicle when they were on the road.

The only downside to Guam (aside from insane local politics) is that it is so darned far! There is no quick or inexpensive way to get back and forth to the mainland USA. But I’d go back in a minute. And it was a great place to raise small children, with great beaches and water parks all over the place. And if any single guys are reading this, a lot of local girls are very, very pretty.
