Help us convince the GOP nominee to pick Haley Barbour as his vice-presidential running mate; and help convince Haley to say, YES! Our goal is to deliver a petition signed by 50,000 GOP supporters to the presumptive GOP nominee and to Governor Barbour by March 1, 2008.
Mississippi ping
Ping
It has been nearly three days since the blizzard of purely political threads; has anybody missed them?
Great. One of the bunch of yahoos who got us into this mess.
Include me out.
No matter how seductive the number two spot is, I still couldn’t support the number one spot. (assuming McCain, of course)
Good, because he's not what we need to win the White House in 2008. Republicans have no problem winning votes in the south, and if they did it would probably be because they're getting creamed everywhere else.
I don’t remember Haley being all that conservative.
Where are all the “Draft Trent Lott” petitions? :-)
Haley’s the BEST!
Thank you!
See disclaimer at post #1
In the garbage. ;o)
Trent said “Drafts” mess up his hair.
He’s the best but he needs to keep being the best
in Mississippi for the time being.
i agree that Haley is a good candidate - he’s plenty conservative, has done an outstanding job of pulling Mississippi out of the Katrina disaster without whining, weeping or begging, and when he was head of the RNC was a most effective spokesman for the party. he can hold his own in any political argument, and in a most gracious yet effective way.
Impossible! That’s not hair. It’s a brown football helmet.
Haley is no doubt a nice man, and has done some good things---but that's about it. He certainly doesn't light anybody's fire with speeches, though.
I'd rather see a younger person to balance McLame's age. I'd even like to see Condi Rice there. What a coup that would be--not only an American born and bred "person of color", but a woman to boot!
I agree...
He needs to finish the job in Mississippi before he can move forward.
He’ll be free in 2012.
I can wait...;o)
I like Haley, but I think we should accept the lesson we learned about talking reluctant people into running for office.
You are right on every count.
However, he needs to finish his job in MS first.
That being said, I surely hope he runs for President in 2012.
