Weird, there has been a couple of motorcycle cops killed, either protecting the President or a candidate.
Last year, a police officer was killed while escorting a motorcade for President George W. Bush in Albuquerque, N.M. There was a similar fatal crash involving a presidential motorcade in Hawaii in 2006
In my hometown last year (Bama)....they had a motorcycle cop killed in a minor crash with some car...going less than 30mph. The town only has two of these cycle cops. Afterwards...everyone wanted to defend the practice of motorcycle cops...but some folks started to ask really intelligent questions about the necessity of these guys.
I finally came to agree that there are very few reasons to continue this practice and ninety percent of these requirements ought to be halted. I’ll bet that if someone added up the deaths and accidents per year...it’d be a pretty fair number.
