The absolute worst case I have ever seen was an admit that was a super-malnourished ‘crack ho’ that was all of 19.
(OK, some folks are now having a field day with this in their heads).
She was MR with the IQ of about a 7 year old kid, her Mom had been pimping her out most of her life. Her nose had been broken so many times it was flat, her teeth were already gone from beatings. She had just about every disease in the book.
And she sat there talking about how she knew it was wrong for people to hit her....sounding just like a little kid. I won’t lie, the SW and I were squalling when we left the room.
There is a special place in hell for all the adults who hurt her, right down to the johns who used her.

It’s too bad there isn’t a way to scoop up people like that and find a safe place for them.
It’s probably nearly impossible to keep someone like that to go back out to the same routine - it’s all she knows.
