We took a cruise this month to the Mexican Riveria on the Golden Princess.

The security at the Mexican end at Puerto Vallarta was very intensive and professional at 3 observable levels to even get back to boarding the ship.

There was good security at the Mexican end in Mazatlan and Cabo.

We had to laugh, as the Mexican security people in Cabo searched the shore bound passengers from the Norwegian Cruise Ship, we weren’t checked nor searched until we got in line to board a tender back to our ship.

Before you first board a Princess Ship, your Passport is scanned and validated. As you enter the ship, you insert your new passenger card into a machine which apparently does a retinal scan and a picture without glasses or hat to add to the documentation from your pass port and other history. Then, you use that passenger card to get off the ship and back on. When you leave the ship at the end of the cruise, that card is deactivated.
