I could be wrong, but aren’t the SS agents sworn law enforcement officers? Despite this being a civil issue, aren’t they obligated to not interfere with the process service?

No, you're not wrong, and as law enforcement officers, and officers of the court, they are not only obligated to not interfere, they may well be obligated to assist...
