re: AK 47’s; I disagree and I think the majority would say the M16 is superior to the AK47:

Pros
The AK-47 is a very effective weapon with great power
It has a very high rate of fire
comes at a very reasonable price.
simple to operate, clean, and repair
reliable
Cons
Very loud noise
it’s heavy
not as accurate as most military rifles
any optics require special adapters
Many people don’t like the AK safety mechanism

M-16 Pros & Cons
Pros
It’s lighter,
more accurate,
more versatile,
allow numerous modifications to be made
such as mounting various uppers
Cons
The 5.56 ammunition
reliable with proper maintenance

I dunno...I’ve shot all three and prefer the sturdier AKs. I know a number of military folks who do too. But, I guess it’s a matter of preference.

The 7.62x39 has a bullet weight of around 123 gr. compared to the 5.56 at around 60 gr. the heavier bullet will hit harder and therefore penetrate better. its like talking to anyone who understands the knockdown power of the 45 compared to the 9mm. I do agree that the m-16 is more accurate than the AK but when your up close accuracy is negligible compared to knockdown power.
