You know one of the things that I keep hearing is all this turnout for the Democrats. Is it really all of these democrats are coming out or are there a lot of independents and republicans voting in the Democratic primary to choose the candidate (the easier of the two to beat in November)? That is exactly what is happening. No informed person actually believes that Virginia has three times as many democrats as Republicans.

That’s the $64,000 question. My best guess is that McCain can grab the independents, particularly if the dynamic is an inexperienced black man against a seasoned white former POW.

I do know McCain blows Hillary away among independents, in some cases, six to one. But I want the Clintons gone once and for all. I don’t want her anywhere near the general election.

History’s verdict should be that her attempt to make this election a referendum on Bush instead became a referendum on Clinton.
