AUSTIN, Feb. 21 -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, facing a pair of big Democratic primary tests on March 4 that could determine the fate of her presidential candidacy, is deadlocked with Sen. Barack Obama here in Texas and holds a slender lead over him in Ohio, according to two new Washington Post-ABC News polls.
The closeness of the races in Texas and Ohio underscores the challenges facing Clinton over the next 12 days of campaigning as she seeks to end Obama's double-digit winning streak in their battle for the Democratic nomination. Those victories have given Obama a lead in delegates to the national convention and have put Clinton's candidacy at risk unless she can rack up a string of big victories of her own.
In Ohio, Clinton leads Obama in the new poll by 50 percent to 43 percent, a significant but tenuous advantage given the shifts that have taken place in advance of previous primaries as candidates intensified their campaigns. In Texas, the race is about even, with Clinton at 48 percent and Obama at 47 percent.
Independents lifted Obama to many of his early victories, but he has also carried the support of mainline Democrats since Super Tuesday. These new polls, however, show Clinton leading Obama by double-digit margins among Democrats. Both Ohio and Texas hold open primaries, in which any registered voter may cast a ballot.

Let the House of Clinton fall.
Bury the Beeotch.
i want both obama and hillary to lose...
I'd think the longer she sticks around, the better.
More from Dan Balz in the Washington Post:
Clinton advisers have expressed optimism about her prospects in the two contests, but the new polls suggest that the momentum Obama achieved in his string of victories has turned both into true battlegrounds. Clinton’s husband, former president Bill Clinton, said this week that she must win Texas and Ohio to keep her candidacy viable.
Not only do I want her to stick around, I want her to win.
McCain will lose to Obama,
Take out the Islamist (HUSSEIN Obama) in November.
If she does linger I am hoping for a nasty attempt to steal the nomination through the use of Super Delegates and the seating of the Florida and Wisconsin delegates. I doubt if she is that dumb, but who knows?
As much as I want to see her gone from the scene, I'm inclined to agree with you. I'd love to see a bloody rat convention fight, with Hillary stealing the nomination from Obama and then watch the fun of a riot.
but the more they debate the harder it is for obama even if he does get the nomination. Americans will realize how liberal he is and won’t go for it.
1) The sooner the Clintons are gone, the better. Don't let the Bwitch come back from the dead, put a stake in her heart now. If she is the nominee, the Clinton machine will steal the election.
2) The sooner Obama is the nominee, the more time we have to expose him as the empty suit he is, to every American voter.
3) If Obama is the nominee, the Clintons will do every thing they can to make sure he loses, so she can run again in 2012.
Dumb.
I agree that she should be killed off sooner rather than later. I crossed over in Wa and voted for Obama....shocked my family but I did it.
I felt like I needed a long hot shower after I crossed over and voted for Reverend Al in 2004, just to stick a finger in Jean Francois Kerry’s eye.
One at a time ...
Media in full court press for Hillary...here come the pre-vote polls!
My impression of Barak Obama is that he is an honest, decent man. In a Democrat politician that is absolutely astonishing. It’s too bad he is a radical Leftist who, if he had his way, would destroy the United States. This alone disqualifies him for the Presidency. It also calls into question his intellect and his judgment.
If the Clintons can steal the nomination, they can steal the election too.
OMG! You voted for AL SHARPTON????? ....that is service almost beyond the call of duty!
LOL
I agree. Osbama will be exposed for the fraud he is in the general without much effort really.
leave no doubt, take her out
