I have to admit that when I read the headline I was outraged that someone was sent to prison for attacking a bat.

What a proper headline would read:

Fresno administrative law judge’s wife sentenced for attack with (a) bat.
Of course, thats just me and I may be a bit batty about the whole deal...

That’s not an unusual time to be eligible for parole with a life sentence. Similar laws in lots of states. I ain’t saying it’s right, just saying that’s the way it is. Gotta be LWOP to avoid that.

Why should she be excused for attacking a defenseless bat?

Seven years in jail for attenpted murder seems pretty light. When she gets out, I would put her on indefinite parole, to be confined to one county.

I believe that any husband who would do that is not worth fighting over. Quite frankly, the other woman may have done her a favour by revealing what a scum her husband was.
