why the heck doesn’t senator mccain just tell the new york times to take its best shot, hire all the thugs it chooses to unearth any allegations, and let the chips fall where they may, at the times’ expense as it holds open forums of all those who have an axe to grind.

who the he() are these psychotic asses? do they have such behind-the-scenes-power that public figures find it necessary to genuflect with every new allegation that is made by them?

absolutely, freaking amazing.

(hold onto your hat mr. watson, the game’s afoot and the adolescent hordes are at the gates.)

I take exception to the Page Six analogy.

Richard Johnson checks his facts, unlike the old gray heifer.

The rest of The Captain's post is spot-on though.

The slimes and other leftist media are going to start treating McCain like a Republican. Even though he has been their Democrat, as much as he has been our Democrat, he isn’t the Democrat’s Democrat, and the MSM is the public relations wing of the DNC. Forget substance, proof and anything you might associate with fairness and reality. The knives are coming out. McCain should know all about back stabbing. He should also know that trying to pin Obama down on substance or experience won’t work. Obama’s appeal is to the same, empty, pop culture McCain has been appealing to for years. Substance need not apply, just like it doesn’t for campaign finance, not drilling ANWR, carbon footprints, amnesty and the gang of fourteen. All you need are sound bites and insults. Have fun John. Enjoy your short stint as a Republican. And you folks who are supporting John shouldn’t worry. His staff had to see this coming from eight years down the road. What they couldn’t have imagined is the media driven, messianic fantasy Obama is having.

I would say the jury is still out on that one.
