“I’ve never heard anyone say that it is too expensive to do business in Texas, Florida, Arizona, Missouri, and a long list of other places.”

Listen please...

I am in the wedding business. Been so for 25 years. The high cost of the property taxes on a new home for newlyweds in Florida is cutting wedding budgets like no other industry. A couple can be Florida born natives. Their parents have lived in one place for the 20 years. The kids property taxes will be four times that of the parents.

It’s a lose lose situation. The newlyweds have it just as bad as the new residents coming from out of state. Oh - I forgot nobody is moving into Florida anymore.

"Oh - I forgot nobody is moving into Florida anymore. "

And another thread today discusses California's growing exodus. That is a phenomena I'm living with 'cause the lady wants to stay here no matter what I think.

What you are describing sounds like two former winners that misplayed their hands because they thought people would continue to pay the tab no matter how high they set it.

That's kind of what I suggested - Cal, and I guess Florida, has been legislating as though there'd always be new hings to tax, higher wages, and people eager to pay for the sunshine.

Don't work that way, I'm even willing to consider snow a couple of months a year.
