Well this RC will support McCain over Obama, or Clinton.

I am not a one issue person but I know the record of all the candidates on life issues.

This is to innoculate Obama against the Sinclair story.

Well I am waiting for that front page story regarding the ACTUAL legal action that a man is making toward Obama regarding gay sex and cocaine.

Gee what a surprise. I would NEVER expect that from the New York Slimes. No way they are not bias... LOL! McNut is getting a lesson on appeasement.

Thanks for posting that, I am about ready to stop even looking at posts about this RINO - with the spin and twisting of facts by the growing GOP BOTs and McCainiaks desperate postings. The case against MCCAIN has been well made and the case for him is just emotion of fear that never wins elections.

Well said.

Yes, should she 'win'. . .she will definitely lose.

These people are not going to show up for what now appears by comparison; a second-rate messiah wannabe. . .

The timing of the McCain story makes no sense as an attack otherwise. It is weak. It comes when he will surely get the nomination and it's too far in advance to make any impact in November.

Not trying to start a flame war, but that’s not the issue. The hard core evangelical part of the base tends to be a bit squirrelly, for lack of a better term. It’s not a matter of them deciding to vote for Obama over McCain. They won’t. They’ll just stay home. They’ve done it before. Bush’s 30-year old DUI was enough to keep many of them home in 2000, which resulted in a 600-vote margin of victory in Florida.

One story may or may not be enough to do it, but too many more of these type stories will be enough to keep the evangelicals home. Look how much a few statements from Dobson hurt Fred Thompson. Dobson already has said he won’t support McCain. It’s undeniable that McCain is on shaky ground with evangelicals, and this is the sort of thing that could kill his chances with them.

FLASHBACK DRUDGE REPORT DEC 20 2007 Drudge was way ahead of this as usual. The NY Times has been working on this for Months - and Remember it was JAN 08 when they endorsed McCain.

DRUDGE REPORT

MEDIA FIREWORKS: MCCAIN PLEADS WITH NY TIMES TO SPIKE STORY
Thu Dec 20 2007 10:56:57 ET

Just weeks away from a possible surprise victory in the primaries, Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz has been waging a ferocious behind the scenes battle with the NEW YORK TIMES, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned, and has hired DC power lawyer Bob Bennett to mount a bold defense against charges of giving special treatment to a lobbyist!

McCain has personally pleaded with NY TIMES editor Bill Keller not to publish the high-impact report involving key telecom legislation before the Senate Commerce Committee, newsroom insiders tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

The paper’s Jim Rutenberg has been leading the investigation and is described as beyond frustrated with McCain’s aggressive and angry efforts to stop any and all publication.

MORE

The drama involves a woman lobbyist who may have helped to write key telecom legislation.

The woman in question has retained counsel and strongly denies receiving any special treatment from McCain.

Rutenberg, along with reporter David Kirkpatrick, has been developing the story for the last 6 weeks.

Rutenberg had hoped to break the story before the Christmas holiday, sources reveal, but editor Keller expressed serious reservations about journalism ethics and issuing a damaging story so close to an election.

McCain campaign officials Rick Davis, Charlie Black and Mark Salter are also said to have met with the NEW YORK TIMES in an effort to halt publication.

Developing...

What amazes me - in truth cannot, of course - is their arrogant and biased transparancy of their MO. Their bottom line is not the news but their agenda. It's their job and they are sticking to it. (. ..and so goes the entire MSM as well, and of course.)

here’s were its interesting.....Hillary wins the superdelegates....pissing off the majority of the dems that voted for Obama...wait for the lowest turnout ever.

That's the scenario I'm hoping for come November.

I've got one question: Is this stuff true? If it is, I'm not inclined to shoot the messenger since it would be a waste of both time and ammo. So I'm waiting to see if it's true. If it is, McCain's got only himself to blame. Not the MSM.

If this stuff ain't true, then the MSM's put more nails in its coffin. They're hurrying along their own demise just fine. They'll take care of themselves for us.

This was the plan all along. Build him up, get the nomination, then destroy him for either Obama or Hillary. They were NEVER going to support a Republican.

_____

As predicted by many Freepers here weeks, months and years ago.

The Dem/Msinstream Media plan is working to perfection. Spend years pushing McCain as the “maverick, centrist Republican who can win.” Split the Republican party, marginalize conservatives and talk radio. Once McCain is nominated, turn on him, brainwash the moderates who secured the nomination for McCain into voting for Hillobama.

The conservative movement crushed; Liberal Democrat is president. Nirvana.

Added: The RHINOs fell for it, too. The MSM has convinced them the country has moved so far left only a moderate can be elected.

Meanwhile, the Democrats are energized, running two of the most liberal senators.

According to the Times sources, after being confronted by staffers, McCain "acknowledged behaving inappropriately and pledged to keep his distance from Ms. Iseman."

I've seen this movie before. Flashback October 2003 to Arnold Schwarzenegger (I wonder if they have the same campaign strategist)

• L.A. Times runs hitpiece with a dozen women alleging inappropriate touching and sexual harrassment (stemming back between 2 to 10 years).

• Campaign responsds with feigned outrage -- "Hit piece!" "Unnamed sources!" "ala National Enquirer!"

• Talking head hit the street - "Yellow journalism!" "He is a family man!" "He has a pretty wife."

• The accused responds: "Trash politics." "I am a champion of women." "I behaved badly... I apologize if I offended anyone." Any further discussion on the point was then dismissed by talking heads and apologists, without addressing the specific allegations.

• The accused's wife responds: "I trust my husband...."

• Shills and Apologists - "This will backfire." "The newspaper is just trying to bring him down." "How dare the LAT--now I'm going to vote for Arnold." "Conservatives will rally around him, now." "This will help Arnold."

McCain isn’t my choice, as our candidate but if he does become the president, it very unlikely he will ever forget what the Times has done with this article. he will exact some kind of retribution. The NYT is nothing more than the right arm of any Socialist agenda.

Here was a report of McCain’s dealings on behalf of one of Iseman’s clients.

McCain Group Got Big Cable Donation
Posted on 03/07/2005 3:22:52 PM PST by NormsRevenge

WASHINGTON - Sen. John McCain (news, bio, voting record) pressed a cable company’s case for pricing changes with regulators at the same time a tax-exempt group that he co-founded solicited $200,000 in contributions from the company.

Help from McCain, who argues for ridding politics of big money, included giving the CEO of Cablevision Systems Corp. the opportunity to testify before his Senate committee, writing a letter of support to the Federal Communication Commission and asking other cable companies to support so-called a la carte pricing.
