It was — the ship that made the shot was the Ticonderoga-class AEGIS cruiser USS LAKE ERIE. I just put "battleship" in the fake headline for humorous purposes. (Most journalists wouldn't know a battleship from a bass boat.)

I thought is was going to be one of the Aegis class ships that were going to shoot the missile off ? In media speak, every USN ship is a "battleship" and every plane is a "fighter plane". Additionally, anything that has tracks on it is a "tank".
