Early in Senator John McCains first run for the White House eight years ago, waves of anxiety swept through his small circle of advisers.
A female lobbyist had been turning up with him at fund-raisers, in his offices and aboard a clients corporate jet. Convinced the relationship had become romantic, some of his top advisers intervened to protect the candidate from himself instructing staff members to block the womans access, privately warning her away and repeatedly confronting him, several people involved in the campaign said on the condition of anonymity.
When news organizations reported that Mr. McCain had written letters to government regulators on behalf of the lobbyists clients, the former campaign associates said, some aides feared for a time that attention would fall on her involvement.
Mr. McCain, 71, and the lobbyist, Vicki Iseman, 40, both say they never had a romantic relationship.
Maybe McCain and Obama can do a co-presidency.
McCain will bring the ladies and Obama will bring the drugs. And Hillary will be dissed again by these types of going ons in the White House.
If RINO Gov. Charlie Crist ever becomes VP, the RINO chain could go on and on.
When will we rid ourselves of this RINOism??
The best one who didn’t get traction was DUNCAN HUNTER. I really miss him. He was a true conservative. He BUILT A FENCE. That may be the last fence that’s completed.
That is a good answer. People like us view things from the perspective of right and wrong, rather than from the perspective of what somebody looks like. I believe liberals are the real racists in may instances because they attempt to intject race into every issue.
This is a garbage story and its sad when people here believe the NYTs
We’re saying it’s garbage- but McCain knew of htis story many months ago and the campiagn was worried about it news getting out- somethign stinks here- whether it is McCain hiding something, or the NYT lying- not sure which is the case just yet BUT IF McCain really did have an affair- then it will be over for the Republican party- Obama will win hands down as ALL the news media pound relentlessly on the story.
McCain may be benifitting right now, but if the NYT has any further evidence hwich they are holding for later- during hte run off for President, then our republican party will die an ugly death.
IF McCain did infact have an affair, and ran for Presidency anyways, knowing full well that the affair would be published, then quite frankly, I’m really pissed about his sabotage of the Republican party- The party may never recover owing to the vitriol and animosity of the country toward the Republicans. McCain’s message of leadership simply won’t sink in with a coutnry who wants ‘change’, and if He had an affair, this will just seal the deal for a democratic Presidency. Obama’s lack of experience won’t matter one iota- all people will see is the fact that McCain lied IF the allegations are true.
I can’t beleive how awful our choices are this year, and if McCain had skeletons in his closet that he knew were going to be published, then I’m quite upset abotu what he’s done ot our party.
[[If you recall, the NYT endorsed him on January 25, 2008.]]
Yes they did- knowing full well that they had this story with which they could pull him down right in time for the presidential run- of course they endorsed him- He’s easy to beat IF the story about the affair is true.
