MILWAUKEE -- Michelle Obama made two separate remarks in Wisconsin on Monday declaring a new pride she has felt in her country -- comments that today came under oblique attack from another would-be first lady, Cindy McCain.
At a midday event on Monday in Milwaukee, Obama said, "For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback."
A few hours later in Madison, she made a similar point, although with some adjustments to her language:
"For the first time in my adult lifetime, I'm really proud of my country -- not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change. I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction and just not feeling so alone in my frustration and disappointment."
Press reports, including on this blog, initially confused the two events (my note: Probably INTENTIONALLY!)

On MSNBC it was explained Michele would not apologize for the remark because EVERYBODY ON THE CAMPIGN ARE TO AFRAID OF HER TO ADVISE HER THAT THAT IS WHAT SHE SHOULD DO!
If those days were truly over, J. S. McCain wouldn't be running away with the Republican nomination, Hildebeeste wouldn't be a Senator, and Barak Hussein would be utterly unknown.

A black gal called Air America this morning (yeah, I listen every now and then) on this topic. The host framed the pride line as not being what Ms. Obama really meant, but the black gal, to his dismay, said it’s exactly how she feels — no pride in America until now with Obama.
I agree. I have been proud of my country since I was old enough to know what a blessing it is to be born in America.
Anyone, who just realized what a blessing being an American is- is highly suspect to me.

I will grit my teeth and vote McCain, but I won’t be singing Cindy’s praises like I did Laura’s.
Her statement is revealing of just how unAmerican Democrats are. I fear for our Nation if we end up with Mr. & Mrs. Obama in the White House. In 8 years we will all be learning Arabic and reading the Koran.
