I wonder how many Obama primary votes are actually Republicans and independents just trying to get rid of Hillary who then will vote McCain in the general?

You must be dreaming.

We all would love to see a defeated Hillary ...

If you saw Hillary's speech tonight, you saw it. Hillary now speaks and looks like the "udderly" defeated cow she is. Whoever is running the Secret Service should put her on a suicide/homocide watch, and triple Obama's guard -- immediately.

If you saw Obama's speech tonight, you saw the next president of the United States, barring any unnatural interference by the old wing of that party. They asked for substance, he added substance.

This was the beginning of the end for the status quo in DC. The old people in the House and Senate better pack up their bags. And by "old", I mean the ones who refuse to represent the people who elected them.

The Republicans can watch this speech for the next twenty or thirty years, and chastise themselves for not fronting a young, energetic, and principled conservative to lead the Republican Party and the country. They will have plenty of time, and absolutely nothing else to occupy that time. I don't agree with most of Obama's ideas, but one of them surpasses all and crosses party lines -- it's time to get the dead weight out of Washington, DC. Both parties. Actually, what he said about that is, "Washington is where good ideas go to die."

If you also watched McCain's speech tonight, you already know exactly what I mean by the above paragraph. Republicans put forth a warmed-over corpse to counter the greatest challenge they have ever had, at least since the invention of radio. There was absolutely no excuse for this, and the old crust of the Republican Party is 100% to blame for its demise. May it not rest in peace.

But wait, there's more. The Democrats could yet pull defeat from the jaws of victory. Hillary is still getting 43% from that wing of her party. She could still cheat Obama out of the nomination. If she does that, Obama could easily run as an Independent and get 56% of the Democrat vote, and without a "D" next to his name, he could get half of the Republican vote. Maybe then we could put both these corrupted parties out of their misery.

It's a sad, shrill tune, but Hillary is singing. The Republicans simply stepped on their microphone.

You don’t seriously think Obama is the non-partisan angel he claims to be, do you? The idea that he will put an end to partisanship is ludicrous. He is a LEFTIST, and no one is more viciously partisan than a Leftist.

-

What is the greatest challenge?
Al qaeda? achmedinijad? Hezbollah? Putin? Kim il jung? Chavez? China?
yeah we’ll fight them with a pretty boy of our own who can speak. That will get them trembling in their boots.

I saw the tail end of Obama’s speech and none of Hillary’s. Heck, even I get hyped up at his speeches and I have to remind my self of reality.

We’re crazy to run McCain but the voters in the early primaries did us in.

What a crummy situation. It’s almost like we wanted to lose....or at least to see amnesty passed.

Right on the money. He is gonna be untouchable, and he will get crossover votes in big numbers.

The best the pubbies can do is beef up the House with new (real) conservatives and bide their time.

Excellent summation.

I didn’t watch Hillary’s speech tonight.
However, I heard a bit of Obama’s.

18,000 + in HOUSTON?

It sounded like a revival.

They love him...there’s no doubt about that.

I hope Hillary cheats her party out of their chosen one. ;o)

Too bad our primary system was set up by the party to benefit Giuliani.
Instead, it benefited a dinosaur.

You are spot on... unfortunately.

Hah, I was just about to say that, you took the words right out of my mouth. And as ridiculous as it sounds, it may be true... not that conservative voters wanted to lose, but it seems that the powers-that-be, including the media, pushed McCain on us, to ensure a Dem victory.

In fact, others will call it a kooky conspiracy theory, but what I discussed on this thread is something that an outspoken globalist (Clinton's mentor, Carrol Quigley) wrote about years ago, that one way to achieve their agenda is to take control of both political parties. And when we look at where we're at now, perhaps people should take another look at what the socialist/globalist enemy admitted, because it sure as hell looks like what he said has come to fruition.

Hey, every one of them politicos have talked about getting the dead weight out of Washington for years. Obama is chanting from past speeches and has nothing behind his rhetoric. Will the people figure it out....Half will half won’t

He is, essentially, the liberal Reagan. Reagan’s ability to put forth conservative idea’s and appeal directly to the people and cross party lines is what made him so popular. Obama is running in exactly the same way just a mirror image of being very liberal.

I saw the three speeches, too. The one thing I agreed with Obama on was the line "Wasington is where good ideas go to die." It is time to get the dead weight of the old and stale of both parties out. Stopped clock right twice a day type of thing. If Obama keeps up with that tack, he will be very hard to beat in November; too many people across the spectrum are just plain sick, tired, and fed up with the deaf dinosaurs over in Babylon-on-the-Potomac.
