You know full well that virtually no one here “wants” Hillary or Obama. Many of us do, however, feel strongly that a McCain nomination signals a point in the liberalization of the GOP that can no longer be condoned, supported, and extended, a point at which we believe it is wiser to accept what we hope will be short-term pain in order to achieve long-term gain.

Continuing your snide remarks against fellow conservatives who feel differently than you on this issue is counter-productive in every way.

I and many others feel strongly that a vote for McCain is the easy way out and almost surely will result in far greater damage to the country over the long term than not voting for him. The GOP has been heading in the wrong direction for almost two decades now, two decades of doing exactly what you propose we do again, vote for candidates who do NOT stand for the conservative government that is needed so desperately in this country.

Despite the fact that the GOP has been the majority party for almost twenty years, the country has grown more liberal by the day. It truly is time for change.
