The key difference I’ve found is that Mac users really don’t know much about Computers. They don’t know how they work and they don’t care and of course that is fine but you can’t expect to have a technical conversation with them which is much like having a political conversation with them because once you get past the gui of pretty pictures they get lost.

Oh please. Much of the difference has to do with the software one works with. Design/production professionals prefer macs. Business people, accountants, students, etc, go pc.

What you say is largely true. Mac users, like most Windows users, just want to "do stuff" on their systems without really understanding the guts. Those poor souls are lost once the command line interface comes up. There are, however, a class of Mac users (like myself) who use the platform even if only to assure interoperability of network applications.

I used to derisively refer to the MacOS systems as "Macintoys," but after I got a Mac Mini and downloaded the developer tools so I could compile my own stuff on it, I got to liking it well enough. It's not my primary system (I prefer Linux as a rule), but I must confess that I prefer it over Windows, especially Vista.

I don't care how my computer works, I just want it to work. That's why I have 7 macs. They get the job done. I'm in graphics, so macs make sense. I have 3 pcs and hate them.

I promise not to have a technical discussion with you. LOL!
