all the software and hardware was so much more expensive than anything you could get for a PC

I just threw away a Dell mailer. It was crowing about 2 new products obviously designed to compete w/ Macs.

Well guess what? The laptop had close to the same system as my Mac Book Pro except it had a 13" screen instead of my 15".
Oh, it is $200 more than my Mac.

Have you priced OSX Leopard? $149, that probably has everything any Vista version has, and likely more.

I have 2 Dell desktops w/ XP. They are ok but when I need to upgrade it won't be to a PC.

My... The MacBook Pro is $1999; and you can get a Dell Vostro with a 160 GB HDD (bigger drive), 2 GB RAM, same CPU, a 15.4” screen, 802.11n, Bluetooth 2.0, AND a Verizon EVDO broadband modem for under $1600.
