Barack, as Oprah said, is one of the most brilliant men you will meet in our lifetime. This line is going to wear thin by November.
The truly great politicians don't go around saying how great they are, they talk about how great the nation and its people are; think of just about any speech by Pres. Reagan.

No, Michelle, the young kids all over the world are looking at us and they are trying to figure out how to BE LIKE US.

We don't know our neighbors. We don't talk.
What neighborhood do you live in? Bet it isn't anywhere near the po' folks.
We believe that our pain is our own - we don't realize that the struggles and challenges of all of us are the same.
I believe that our future is the result of our hope for change in a brighter America. See how you can use so many words to say nothing? Making stuff out of nothing at all, to paraphrase the old Air Supply song.
Don't get sick in this country - not here. Americans are in debt not because they live frivolously but because someone got sick. And even with insurance, the deductibles and premiums are so high that people are still putting medication [and ?] treatments on credit cards.
Choices suck, don't they, Momma Bama? When's the gubmint gonna set us straight? Maybe Americans should stop wasting their money on entertainment, high-tech gadgets, and living beyond their means. If you have a full-time job, health care--if even partial--isn't hard to find or afford. Government isn't the answer.
That before we can work on the problems, we have to fix our souls - our souls are broken in this nation.
I'm glad you mentioned that. We're currently working on a proposal, should Obama win the presidency, regarding a new cabinet office--the Department of Healing. So far, Oprah's the frontrunner for cabinet Secretary.
Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual - uninvolved, uninformed...
Never? Sounds like a promise--or more accurately, a threat. Gotta love monarchy.

well Michelle...one could start by removing support for infanticide (the Obamas believe babies who survive abortion should not receive medical treatment -but should be allowed to die post-birth).
Then one could remove support for partial-birth abortion...
After those two barbaric atrocities, we could move onto the rest of the slaughter of millions of babies.
That would be a good place to start don’cha think?

He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism, that you put down your division, that you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zones, that you push yourselves to be better, and that you engage. Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual - uninvolved, uninformed... ALLOW! ALLOW! what's he gunna do? Send those who don't 'push themselves to be better' to re-education camps?

Straight out of the Marxist handbook.
1. First, kill religion in the masses so they have no ‘opiate.’
2. Without the opiate, they become hostile and selfish.
3. Without religion, they become immoral.
4. Without morality, degeneracy sets in, then fear.
5. Tax them to the point that the majority in the middle are just getting by.
6. Divide the nation among as many lines as possible (rich/poor, race, religion, young/old, native born/immigrant).
7. Get the opposed groups to pointing fingers at each other for their own hardships.
8. When the nation has been successfully stripped of its religions, of its value system, when the people are divided and fighting amongst themselves, tell them they are to blame and that they need an outside agent to balance all the inequities (finances, economy, property, opportunity) and to bring them all together as one people under a red banner.
Well, they’ve been working on this since the days of FDR. It’s amazing that with so much having happened in the world, so much violence and destruction perpetrated in the name of Collectivism, and so much success in the world because of free markets that they have actually succeeded to the point where this Marxist Obama Hussein is the leading contender for the Dhimmicrat nomination.
Persistence, violence, hostility, false accusation, and lying apparently succeeds.

Thanks for posting this. Her comments reinforce what I have been tring to say to people who are acting as if McCain, and even Clinton, are as dangerous as Obama. Average Americans of all political backgrounds do not need to be lectured on morality by these people. I am proud of the role America plays in the world, and people all over the globe view as a force of good and real hope.

In my world view, Christ fixed souls. Other people have different world views, I understand, but no one believes - outside of the hardcore left - that government can fix your soul. Artfully said.

Michelle Obama - We have to fix our souls - our souls are broken
In 2008, we are still a nation that is too divided. We live in isolation, and because of that isolation, we fear one another.
We don't know our neighbors. We don't talk. We believe that our pain is our own - we don't realize that the struggles and challenges of all of us are the same.
We are too isolated. And we are still a nation that is still too cynical.
We look at it as them and they as opposed to us - we don't engage because we are still too cynical.
Michelle is just projecting her own provincialism. If she thinks the U.S. has problems, she really ought to travel more and live in some other places and see just how wonderful the U.S. is by comparison. She really ought to study more and see how different the U.S. has been, even at its worst, compared to the rest of the world and human history, then she wouldn't be a "the glass is 1/10 empty!" whiner that she is.
Fix your own damn soul, Michelle, and leave the government and the machinations of Barry out of it for the rest of us.
