This is the only window we conservatives have in this ridiculous process to determine who the eventual Republican nominee is, or to even influence the remainder of the ticket.

Not concerned about the War on Terror? Then tell me why McQueeg tried to singlehandedly push through McCain Kennedy without hearings to become the law of the land—not once, but twice!!! It’s 6 plus years since Sept. 11, 2001 and only now he wants to build a fence for our security? How many sleeper cell members do you think are already here in our fair land?

Not concerned about the military? Where was this clown when the 600 POWs we KNOW we left behind in 1973 in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos died one by one desperately hoping that America would come for them, as he and John F. Kerry shut down the POW/MIA Select Committee in 1992-93 and castigated their families for having the temerity to question him? Why did this clown want to send in ground troops into a meatgrinder called Kosovo in 1999?

And why did this dummy castigate the SwiftBoat Vets, when they were the reason for the tide to turn against Kerry in the month after the Dem convention in 2004?

Both the Swiftboat Vets and the POWs—they served WITH McLoser in Vietnam.

You see things how you wish them to be, my friend.

Not how they really are.

McKook’s promises are just that—empty promises—on the border, on judges, on anything. His actions speak louder than words. And the noise is deafening.

I do not begrudge anyone not putting McCain on a pedestal. I certainly do not, it will be a very queasy feeling voting for him. Criticism of some of his past actions are well deserved, incluing his anti-Swiftboat defense of Kerry (I did mention his action regarding the POW-MIA issue in the original post). The keyword being some. Not everything he has done has been anti-conservative, hence his 83% lifetime ACU rating. Do not think for one instant that I believe McCain is even close to a perfect candidate, he has far more flaws than I care to see in a candidate. Would it be politically incorrect to be grateful for his advanced age casting him as a one term stop gap until we get a more legitimate candidate ?

Republicans will finally gain an adavntage in the Senate elections in 2010 (dems will have more seats up for reelection). As bad a choice as McCain is, he is the only stop gap we have until then.

My friend, I do not see things as I wish them to be, I see all the flaws, but I also see the political reality as it currently exists. It really makes me sad that McCain is the option we have to look to. But, then I look at the option of Hitlery and Obama, that option makes my spine crawl. One is a slow acting poison that we have time to find an antidote for, the other two are a fast acting poison that will kill us or leave us crippled.

I’ve never been able to understand this. I would have been fine with him if he just kept quiet, but to attack the Swift Boat people was way over the line. The only thing that makes any sense is that all he saw was an attack on a fellow Vietnam vet, and some kind of loyalty response kicked in, and never mind if anything the Vets said was true.
