Despite the fact that there may be a non-Huckster Libertarian, Constitutional, or Independent candidate coming this summer, at the end of the day, the result of that candidacy will be the election of either Mrs. Clinton or Obama. If that is the way you want it, I certainly respect your choice. The non-Huckster Libertarian, Constitutional, or Independent candidate is not going to win, and can only serve as spoiler. Are we playing checkers, or chess? Mencken also said: “Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.”
The desire is that neither candidate have a mandate. Clinton did not have a mandate in 1992; how much did he manage to get done even with a Democrat House and Senate? Voting third party may give Democrats a win, but it will never give them a mandate.
What I “want” is to not have a known Constitutional violator in the Big House...as giving him my vote is in violation of the oath I took just as much as John McCain stomping on the First Amendment is a violation of HIS oath.
Nothing more.
....and because Bush signed that travesty into law, he lost my vote the last time around.
Really, it’s a moot point concerning “my vote” anyway......’cause John McCain will NEVER win Massachusetts.
