Hopelessly naive and wrong. McCain is 5-10 points to Bush's right, and Bush is well to the right of the mainstream US voter today. But the average Dem voter is for Peace Now and Socialism Tomorrow, and McCain is neither.

Sorry, I mean McCain is 5-10 points to Bush's left, of course. Bush it 10-15 to the right of the media voter, the median voter having moved (that is why he is at 35 in the polls).
The hissy-fit types think Bush is too liberal, but that only shows how delusional they are about the state of the country right now. Less than 20% of the electorate would support candidates they consider the minimal acceptables, which is why their preferred standard bearers couldn't even get into double digits in Republican primaries. No one they wouldn't denounce as a traitor stands a ghost of a chance in the general election. Heck, last I argued with them, they were telling me Bush was.

McCain is for massive amnesty, CFR, and he even voted against the Cornyn amendment. There is no way to explain away that insane vote. Most Americans do not support amnesty, perks for illegal aliens, admitting terrorists and an invasion of this country. No Conservative pushes the kind of immigration legislation or CFR, among many of this liberal acts, that McCain has.
Did you watch the last debate? He did not even look normal as questions confused him and he smiled and talked to himself. It is obomething is not right with him.
