You need to study the results obtained from KSM when he underwent waterboarding for all of 1 minute, and the important information we retreived that saved countless American lives, both military and civilian.
Just saying a thing doesn’t make it true, and if you think it was waterboarding that wrecked the French in Algeria, you seriously need to take another look at that conflict. The differences between Americans in Iraq/Afghanistan and the French in Algeria are gigantic.

I sincerely doubt there are more than ten people alive today who know more about the Algeria war than I do, and about its lessons for the present war on terror. Wars against this strategy are not won in interrogation rooms, they are won in general elections, and losing ground politically on that important front to gain fleeting intel for on the ground stuff we win easily anyway, is a war losing move.
