And how is a belligerent, expansionist Russia humiliating our NATO allies and dominating Europe a good thing for the United States? If the choices are supporting Kosovo's independence or allowing Russia and its client states to bully Europe at will, I say the United States is better off siding with Kosovo.
If siding with Kosovo were for a good cause, I would say yes. But Kosovo is another bridgehead of Islamofascism into the heart of Europe. So, why in the name of all that is just and holy have we spent American treasure and spilled American blood to stop Al-Qaeda in Iraq, and yet, we're going to give them a nice safe base of operations in Kosovo? This doesn't make a lick of sense.
I think you're missing the point. It is precisely the West's support for Islamic jihadists in the Balkans that is driving the former Soviet satellites back into Russia's "loving" embrace in the first place. If anything, this foolish policy of ours of supporting Muslims in that region is aiding Putin's ambitions.
I am under no delusions that Putin cares about being a "defender of Christians," but given the West's support for Kosovo's separation, in light of the atrocities that have been committed against Christians in that region, that's just how the predominantly Christian nations in Eastern Europe will view him.
And there's also the absurdity of the West supporting the very jihadist Muslims who want to destroy us as opposed to the Christians in that region who share our basic values, but that point is obvious and needs no elaboration...
The anti-American comments on this thread are outrageous.
