We can only hope this is as much fun as Chicago ‘68 :) I wasn’t around for that so I’m hoping for a good show.

So, a Dem governor sends in the National Guard, Bush takes all the blame for any incidents?

It wasn't any fun at all. As a 15 year old boy watching it on TV, it felt as though the entire fabric of the nation was coming apart. The usual peaceful means of resolving debate were replaced by violence in the streets adding to the general chaos in the nation. It was not a "fun" experience in the least. It was frightening.

I'm sure the institutional memory of the 'rat party as well as many of the bigwigs remember Chicago well. But the Clinton machine was not a factor then, and they may just be ambitious and ruthless enough to risk another meltdown in order to seize the nomination. After all, they have demonstrated in the past that they are perectly willing to cannibalize the party to satisfy their personal cravings fo power.
