You have to look long and hard to find someone even more obnoxious than Hillary. Even as unpleasant as she is, she would have a good chance of winning in November. Much of the electorate will vote against any candiate who is as hawkish on Iraq as John McCain

I agree. Anybody who facilely says, “Hillary would lose, Obama would win” isn’t thinking it through. If Hillary loses the nomination, she and Bill will be the best clandestine operatives the Republican party could ever hope to have. They know where all the Dem bodies are buried and would be ready, willing and able to undermine Obama and help McCain win so that she can run again in ‘12.

Conversely, if Hillary wins the nomination, she will pull out all the stops to win in the general, and that includes using the information she has against McCain to utterly destroy him.

Anybody who wants the Republican to win in November should be pulling for Obama. It won’t be easy to beat him, but it will be a lot harder to beat her.
