Not trying to hijack your thread, but every time I see Paraguay mentioned, I think of this:
Some interesting twists to this one. According to various Internet sources, the (H.W.!) Bush property, about 100k acres, is next to a major US counter-terrorism base, and also next to a 1M acre property of Sun Myung Moon.
All three places are at the intersection of three countries borders.
The US base was established right after Paraguay agreed to not extradite US personnel to the anti-US ICC. It immediately elicited shrieks from Chavez, in that it could be used to both keep an eye on Venezuela, and to prevent him and his socialist fellow dictators from pulling a fast one in the region, like bringing in Chinese or Cuban troops in great numbers.
Now one thing that can be said about H.W. Bush, is that he is a master of strategy and also knows the mainland Chinese better than they know themselves. His son, W., is so expert at strategy that he might have invented a whole new *kind* of strategy.
So in this case, I would suspect evil deeds and dark doings, but on behalf of the US, and to counter evil deeds and dark doings by the enemies of the US.
One question if Bush does move to South America are we still obligated to protect him with secret service for the rest of his life?
