Sex Workers’ College Tour

In the wake of the departure of the president of the College of William and Mary over his scheduling of a sex workers’ art show, it is useful to know that the Flathats are not alone in their choice of extracurricular activities. This semester the Sex Workers’ Art Show visited the following colleges:

January:

• UC Davis

• Northern Arizona University

• College of Santa Fe

February:

• Guilford College

• Duke University

• College of William and Mary

• George Mason University

• Bard College

• Harvard

• Rhode Island School of Design

• Wesleyan University—By the way, Wesleyan will have Ted Kennedy as its 2008 commencement speaker.

• University of Michigan

• Kenyon College

• Indiana University...

I believe the president of William and Mary was fired over this, which is about time.

Wesleyan? I bet John Wesley is rolling. The Methodist church gets in more trouble everyday while the majority of the congregates continue to tithe and not be watchful of what is happening in their conferences.

It is outrageous that universities across the country are continually raising their tuition and fees. They never have enough money. Yet, amazingly they always seem to have enough money for insane events such as this.

That thought had occurred to me too. I guess it makes sense. With Bill Clinton talking about slowing down the American economy so that we can “save the planet” environmentally speaking, it makes sense to give the college students at these schools other career options for when they graduate and can’t get jobs.

I believe the performers in the Sex Workers’ Art Show are more likely to be scared of the students from RISD and surrounding College Hill drug scene than they are to shock anyone in the audience.
