PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (WBZ) ― A plane carrying hundreds of Marines from Iraq to Maine was forced to make an unscheduled landing in New Hampshire early Monday morning.
A spokesperson at Pease International Airport in Portsmouth told WBZ a World Airways MD-11 with 318 Marines was flying from Iraq to Bangor, when high winds caused problems with the plane's air flaps around 2:30 a.m.
The plane landed at 3 a.m. No one was hurt. The crew was planning to re-fuel in Bangor before heading on to Camp Pendelton in San Diego, California.
Wal-Mart and the Greenland House of Pizza brought in food for the Marines.
Whaleback, a local technology company, is providing free phone service for them so they can call their families. Children have also brought in gift baskets.

Granted it sucks but they could be stranded in far worse places.
I have a friend who served in Okinawa. He was due to come home and got stranded in South Korea for almost 3 days because some high ranking officer wanted to come home but was in no hurry.

Your information is wrong. He has 3 children with his first wife. 2 of those children are from a previous marriage of hers, and he adopted both sons. He has one daughter by her and she now lives in CANADA. Jimmy is Cindy and Johns .Everyone of them including his former ex wife have a good relationship with Senator McCain
Why are we flying troups in obsolete aircraft? This is the same formula that caused the crash in Newfoundland.
Flying these older aircraft..maxed out with fuel and troops with stops required to fuel is a formula for disaster.

And for your info they have been campaigning with him all of his kids except bridget. Because of smart assed remarks some would make about her because she is black. SHe is older now and would understand and see what is going on.
