The feature article on Barack Obama fit him to a tee, all fluff and no substance. The sub-heading says that at every stage in his political career, Obama has reached out to the Jewish Community. Yet the only reaching out referred to in the article is that he sought backing from Alan Solow in Obamas 1996 Illinois Senate run, the backing of Robert Schrayer in his 2004 U.S. Senate run, and named Boston philanthropist Alan Solomont as Obamas fund-raising chief.
The article goes on to say that Obama has built relationships in the community to avoid murmurings about his divergences from pro-Israel orthodoxies. Obama has promised to use sustained and aggressive diplomacy combined with tough sanctions to prevent Iran from building nuclear weapons. This is exactly the course of action Jimmy Carter used to condemn 52 U.S. citizens to 444 days of being held hostage in Iran until President Reagan took office and got them released.
Obama told AIPAC and NJDC that Palestinian needs must be considered in working out a peace deal and that no one has suffered more than the Palestinians. He also is asking for reparations from the Israelis to be paid to the Palestinians.
By the time I reached the end of your article, I was still looking for the facts to support your headline: At every stage in his political career, Barak Obama has reached out to the Jewish community. I turned the page looking for the rest of the article but found nothing.
Here are a few facts that would help your readers make a more informed decision about Barack Obama:
Although his father & step-father are Muslim and Obama attended a Muslim school, he chooses to attend a church headed by Jeremiah Wright, a Black Muslim supporter of Louis Farrakhan and who is a harsh anti-Israel advocate and whose governing body has taken a series of anti-Israel actions.
Obama also gained the support of George Soros, a fierce foe of Israel who has openly proclaimed his desire to break the bonds between America and Israel and has written of his desire to erode political support for Israel. Soros called for concessions to Hamas after which Obama appeared with Soros at a fundraiser.
Another fund raiser for Obama was held at the home of former Knicks player Allan Houston who had publicly proclaimed that Jews had Jesus blood on their hands and are stubborn. The American Jewish Congress noted that Obama would not take any money from someone who had expressed the same sort of remarks about African-Americans. Obamas spokesman said Obama would not return the money raised by Houston.
Obama has openly advocated outreach towards Iran, a state that makes clear its genocidal intentions towards Israel, funds Hezbollah and terrorism against America, Israel, and Jewish targets throughout the world. He seemingly excuses attacks against Americans by Iranian-supported terror groups because we have provoked Iran by trying to liberate Iraq.
Obama is frequently absent during Senate votes so as not to have to take a stance on difficult issues such as when Congress voted to identify The Iranian Revolutionary Guards as a terror group. This would make The IRG susceptible to sanction. Obama then criticized his opponents for supporting this bill.
Obama has called for withdrawal from Iraq which would destabilize the region and strengthen Irans military foothold. He has called for the abolition of nuclear weapons claiming that a nuclear armed America gives countries like Iran and North Korea justification for nukes.
I shudder to think that Obama as president would have access to nuclear arms. He doesnt have the experience or judgment to utilize our military to safeguard our country or our allies. He has already said that he wants to negotiate with our enemies but is willing to attack Pakistan (our ally in the Afgan war).
I hope your writer and the editor that chose to run this story understand that by a candidate seeking financial backing from Jews, doesnt mean that he is reaching out to the Jewish Community.
“Although his father & step-father are Muslim and Obama attended a Muslim school, he chooses to attend a church headed by Jeremiah Wright, a Black Muslim supporter of Louis Farrakhan and who is a harsh anti-Israel advocate and whose governing body has taken a series of anti-Israel actions”
No problem......Obama will still get over 80% of the Jewish vote!!!
bookmark nice picture
I think it will be much lower than that, imho. There seems to be some resistance to Obama from Jewish voters. They are prefering HRC right now.
I think McCain will win more Jewish votes than Bush did.
Here are some comments from this article that I find extremely troubling:
JR:
So lets see, to figure out whether Obama is messianic, the writer turns to a Jew!? Seems like they kinda missed it last time around, didnt they? Its been my observation that a lot of Jews hate Obama, especially those who fawn over their phoenix Israel. They hate him with a white-hot hatred (pun re. racism intended) because they are scared to death that he will treat all parties in the Middle East fairly. And that, my friends, is something Israelis fear more than any neighboring Arab, occupied or exiled Palestinian, or divested Christian who speaks out against the festering injustice that is Israel.
They hate Obama more than they hate their second-class black and brown servants, those impoverished (but conveniently circumcised into the faith) Africans and South Americans they have imported to do their menial work. Why? Because theyre too afraid of the people whose land they have stolen to let them work for even a pittance.
Every Israeli knows, and fears, that the day is coming when justice will be rendered for the evil they have wrought. Sleep well, little bigots, while you may

Hillary:
Christ came and darn Jews did not recognise him, how can they recognise the ability of Obama to see Americans through the burden they have bore all this years because of lobyist in washington, constituted majorly by jews desidents who continously grow fat without much hard work. The people of God when would respect the word of God! and stop manipulating people with the holy books. Shame on you all that has sought to liken obama to a cult movement. He represents the masses and the masses are nothing close to being a cult. What the masses want is fair play on how the economy of a nation is being run. I rebuke you in the name of christ that you dare liken Obama to African wizardary, I rebuke the evil you speak in the name of Jehovah God for your blasphemy. May your evil thoughts be cast down the abyss, you shall remain mute and powerless in the face change since you have openly registered your disgust for the wish of Americans. You racist Jews yet the world sympathise with your people for the evils of Hitler and you come openly to say racist things about Africans. You shall not succeed to create hate you evil Jews desiden. The lord is our sherperd and we shall not want. Devil you are beneath Americans and will always be. AmenFebruary 18, 2008 4:45 PM | Report Offensive Comments

or am I just a member of the paranoid right? ;-)
BTW, a Nation of Islam member, Know4Life, put up the U-Tube video praising Obama on 2/15/08, but the interview is a year old.
If you click on Know4Life's homepage, you can find an interesting video of Farrakhan's Minister of Health, Dr. Alim Mohammed, on the biological causes of AIDS.
Guess who is responsible for AIDS? He's a real doctor, but obviously went nuts when he joined the Nation of Islam in 1968.
I know that no one needs to be reminded of Farrakhan's beliefs.
Nevertheless, here is a video on Farrakhan:
Wright has been a key supporter of Louis Farrakhan, and in December, honored the Nation of Islam leader for lifetime achievement, saying he truly epitomize[s] greatness.
To this day, Obama has not distanced himself from most of Rev. Wrights comments. In a statement supposedly issued to address the matter, Obama ignored the point that his minister and friend had spoken adoringly of Farrakhan and that Wrights church was behind the award to the Nation of Islam leader.
Instead, as outlined in a Jan. 17 Newsmax article, he disingenuously claimed he thought the magazine bestowed the award on Farrakhan for his efforts to rehabilitate ex-prisoners.
