They were trying to downplay things, but there’s some chatter about the tires. Yeah, they were showing Dale Jr's tars from the Gatorade 150 on his ESPN show, And the right sides were down to the cords and looked like they had been through a cheese grater.
and Good Year is saying "It's the agressive setups, not the tires"

I hear its a different camber angle thats scrubbing them prematurely on some cars. Its definitely going to be interesting to see how many laps they hold up.

I heard that Sr. salute just as I came out of the shower. Brought out teary eyes here.
I have to tell ya.... I was in Daytona on the day Sr. won. Only driving through though. I was driving fast from Mosheim, Texas to West Palm Beach because my daughter had given birth for the first time. I took a detour off the highway just to drive by the speedway and listen but kept going south to meet my new granddaughter.
I keep telling Abby she’s VERY VERY special because her birth coincided with Dale winning Daytona. She loves it too. :-)
(forgive me if i’ve told that story here before, tried to be brief but the 10th anniversary just made me sentimental)
