Im a big 07 fan, and I agree with you it probabley wasn’t entirely Montoya’s fault. Im really upset with Burton though. What’s Burton doing makin a move on a teammate with 20 laps to go? Burton’s gotta be more patient in that situation. He started the whole chain of events that led to Montoya hitting Bowyer. Burton and Bowyer were 1-2 in perfect position at that stage of the race. Friggin frustrating.

For the record, this makes the second year in a row that I leave Daytona in the FRFL lead. And last year I finished 22nd. Sorry I missed the post-fest here... had a church function (there was a 15 foot projection screen involved!).

This is how they do it in countries to the South of us. Hire illegals and you will get their skills, values and diseases, yup, everytime.

Woo Hoo!
3rd place with 308
I’m guessing I’ve hit my season high!
I’ll enjoy it for a week

I’m amazed I scraped by with 260. At least it wasn’t another 110 like last Daytona.

What is wrong with Toyotas? I have owned several and they are great cars.

I hope you are right. I would gladly PPV.
Olympics are terrible; all about PC-ism. If we ever get a black or mexican on the US Ski team it will be unwatchable.
I’m sure the NASCAR-asters have been told to lay off critics of JPM.

I'll let you in on a little secret. A lot of NASCAR fans like to pretend that the only cars made and driven in America are Fords, Dodges/Chrysler (which were partly owned by a German company from '97 to '07, go figure), and GM.
The reality is, if you got to an actual NASCAR race, you are going to see plenty of Honda's, Toyotas, etc., in the parking lot.
The ironic thing is, I live in Texas, and my truck was made down the road in San Antonio, about an hour and a half away from me. It's a Toyota. I know quite a few Texans buying Toyotas made in San Antonio. I guess we are in a "Buy Texan" thing ;-)

Well crew, finally home and here's the pics.
Starts with the 'experience" or museum Saturday morning, with the tail end of Cup practice followed by the BuschNationwide Race. then Sunday morning and the Cup race.
Not happy with the race pics, I'm not used to being that high up. It's long and the music gets old, just turn it off, but go full screen.
50th Anniversary Daytona 08.

My son told me that Burton and Bowyer got into a scuffle after the race. I'm going to go back through my DVR and YouTube it if they show it to see what they say , but Burton got up in Bowyer's face and yelled at him for not letting him in.
I initially blamed Busch and Montoya, but after rewatching where Bowyer got spun by Montoya, Bowyer and Burton were racing each other too hard, and Montoya and the others came up, and with Bowyer and Burton practically side by side, everybody ran out of room and Bowyer got spun and Burton got hung out to dry.
Burton should be furious with Bowyer - if Bowyer hadn't blocked him, Burton and Bowyer would have been nose-to-tail in front of Montoya, Busch, Tony, Busch, etc., and they might have done well.
Richard Childress needs to lay the law down to Bowyer - I'm a Bowyer fan myself, but Bowyer's judgement (or lack thereof) ended up with him getting shoved off the track and Burton being hung out to dry.
Watch a
the Youtube clip of it - start watching about 1:30 or so, they show a shot of where you can see Bowyer and Burton racing each other side-by-side, with Busch and Stewart and Newman and the others coming up on them fast.
I can see why Burton got up in Bowyer's face. I would hate to have seen Richard Chidlress after that, you talk about somebody that was probably fuming like a volcano.
I will admit, that Bowyer had very little time to react to the group that was coming up on him fast. If him and Jeff had went single file instead of fighting each other, the group that came up on top of them wouldn't have been able to close that fast.
It's a good example of how quickly things change.
To: 07Jack
It’s also a good example of why Tony Stewart made the comments he made about this being a team track. Bowyer and Burton don’t have the luxury of racing each other, because it’s a bunch of teams racing one another, not a bunch of individual drivers. Thankfully we only get those kinds of races a few times a year.

Thanks. You could see in that one shot we were not happy, but that only lasted for a short time. A 24 fan in front of us would stand and cheer every time he went by making laps and it gathered momentum. Not that it helped him any. LOL

I’ll check your photos after dinner and the Mikey show on Speed.I think it’s the Mikey show. Yep there he is...

I’m about to fall out, east coast time is rough and it’s going to be a long day tomorrow.
