As Hong Kong shivers through its second-longest cold spell since 1885, scientists point to global warming to explain the abnormal cold weather phenomenon worldwide.

"We are seeing extremely unusual weather across the world," said polar researcher Rebecca Lee Lok-sze.

I’ll take your word on the technical stuff—but really you just need to look at all the unknown variables and disparate results to see the models are just educated guesses.

Good thing I wasn’t throwing hard.

Well it looks like study is needed, and the question of cause and effect is far from settled. The logical conclusion if the mechanism is not understood is that no action, especially expensive action, should be taken to reverse what we are not even sure is happening!

I noticed that the author of the piece you linked doesn’t identify his credentials whereas the page I linked to every contributing source is identified by their field of expertise, position and university.

The sky is yellow.

Yes, it may look blue, but that is the very proof, it is in fact, turning yellow. When it turns fully yellow, we will all die and it will be your fault.

It is your fault because you believe the sky is blue. You believe it is blue because you know it is your fault it is turning yellow.

I am the only one who can save you from the yellow sky.

Worship me and I will punish all who believe the sky is blue and will save everyone from the yellow sky.

See,, this is easy!

To shut down EVERY global Warmer just state that the US should get away from fossil fuels.

Then the little switch in their head trips. The though of the US being energy independent is more repulsive than C02 emssions.

They lock up.

When you are trying to make a point, does it bother you to just make something up so you can have a response? I never said “it is certain we have a problem.” My point has been that there is enough evidence to cause me serious concern. I posted an article which appears to evisorate your singular argument. At a minimum, there is enough in the article for me to keep an open mind. The fact that scientists are still trying to sort out the impact of water as a GHG and as a potential feedback mechanism, while you cling to a 98% figure that most scientists reject—demonstrates you are a flat-earther. Your belief that any uncertainty is tantamount to all uncertainty, probably didn’t win you any science fairs or logic awards. Don’t worry, the world needs linear thinkers too.

My point has been that there is enough evidence to cause me serious concern.

OK, do you mind if I ask for evidence for your concern? (PC speak for emotional turmoil) I have read dozens of articles, both scientific and journalistic, about this issue and the idea that water vapor is the greatest, by far, GHG has not been rejected.

And I will put up my scientist/s (there were several contributors to my source) against your unidentified speculator. Speculation is not evisceration.

>”It is also a perfect mechanism for Marxism. To the left, GW is the second coming of Marxism and a cry of alarm similar to a war. GW will provide the basis to shred the constitution.”<

well stated. It’s the perfect mechanism for Marxism.

“The urge to save humanity is almost always only a false-face for the urge to rule it.” ~Henry L. Mencken (1880-1956)

-It’s not about the environment, at all.

The co-founder of Greenpeace,Patrick Moore, left Greenpeace for exactly that reason.

yeah...liberalism is a reality deficit disorder.

You all ever seen a libs car, which is fully festooned with moronic bumper stickers, and noticed one that says “Question Reality”

- it’s an illness all right.

>”Come January, 2009 we are likely to have a government that embraces the global warming threat and that will be eager to enact comprehensive legislation to combat it.”<

-Our current so called “conservative” President has already signed onto combating global warming, thanks for nothing Dubyah, for selling us out.

-and as Business Prof says: “GW will provide the basis to shred the constitution.”

and Landru relates (on another GW thread):”
>”Not unlike today most Germans were not nearly concerned in the late 30s, of course, ‘till is was wayyyyy too late.
Do Americans think our fate will be different?
Does or doesn’t history repeat itself?”<

scory: >”Come next January we are likely to become witnesses to the de facto end of the American experiment. The outward form may persist but the heart will have been torn out of it and replaced by - what?”<

-Dare I say it?
Fascism. full blown fascism. Take a look at one of the things Hitler claimed he stood for: the environment, yup, that’s a Fact.

Many of the big corporations are fully on board, in bed with the policy wonks, they have guys like AlGore on their corporate boards, (Hello Google) and they support this CO2 greenhouse gas BS, 100 %. If they can make a buck trading "carbon credits" granted by the fed govt, by gawd they're gonna do it, and to hell with yours and my personal freedoms.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm sick and tired of these big corps. shuck and jive "earth friendly", "carbon neutral", "save the planet", ad campaigns, which in reality is government endorsed propaganda.

>”People will vote for change and they will get their wish.”<

Change? I think it might be too late, the change is well underway, my Friend. I'd say: The *frog*...is pretty well cooked.
