For the time being the secret forces at work were powerless to withstand it.
This development of the war was a frightful blow to their plans.
They had counted on England not coming in.
But they continued to work in the background in the way that came to be known as the Hidden Hand.

INDEED. Awfully true.
Exactly right. Behind the conspiracy lie the real Powers that want to enslave and ultimately eliminate the human race.
We know who wins in the end, of course, but that does not give us the right to avoid the fight. We must battle the Enemy for every soul.
