SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Just before Valentine's Day, See's Candies has announced it is recalling 16-ounce bags of its Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips.

The company said the candies may contain undeclared traces of milk. People with severe milk allergies are warned that eating the candies can result in serious or life-threatening allergic reactions.

Concerned consumers who bought the product should return them to the shops where they were purchased for a full refund.

I grew up in Calif. on See’s. Didn’t know that they made their own chips.

I always make the See’s fudge recipe at Christmas to give for gifts, and always add the story of how, the recipe became public in WW2 when, a soldiers girlfriend paid a year’s wages so that she could send her love a box while he was overseas.

This is what happens when you let liberal politics win.

A milk allergy shouldn’t make a company go through the recall of chips. Just put a note out there that a batch might have a trace of milk, and let people throw chips away if they can’t handle milk.

How freaking much milk could there be in a handful of semi-sweet chocolate chips?

CAUTION! Milk chocolate, cows, milkshakes, and milk, may actually contain milk. Thank you.

This is a crisis because of Valentine's? Is there some new tradition of gifting your sweetheart with a bag of chocolate chips?

"Happy Valentine's Day, sweetheart, here's a bag of chocolate chips. Go bake cookies or something."
