Mike Huckabee Reacts to Potomac Primary
Fox News ^ | February 13, 2008 | Interview

Posted on 02/13/2008 3:10:27 PM PST by Berlin_Freeper

VAN SUSTEREN: So what's your plan now?

HUCKABEE: We're headed to Wisconsin tomorrow. We'll be up there for a couple of days. We'll kind of see where we're going to be over the weekend, then we'll be back probably in Wisconsin. A lot of our focus over the next few weeks is going to be in Texas, in Ohio. Those are two big states. Texas is a state that's obviously next to us, close to us. We've got a strong organization, a lot of supporters in Texas. It's a very conservative state, and I think that's where we're going to do well because Texas voters, like all the voters of America, they ought to have a choice. They ought to have an actual election and have a campaign, not a coronation. And we plan to give it to them.

VAN SUSTEREN: Have you done the crunching of the numbers? Because I know this should be about policy, but frankly, now it's really about numbers and delegates. Have you done that number crunching to see, you know, if you're still in the game?

HUCKABEE: Well, the game may be for us to go to the convention, if nobody gets 1,191 delegates, and that's still a possibility. Until someone gets that magic number, we still have an election process, and there is no nominee. Once that happens, we've got a nominee, and it's time to rally around him. And so if that's not me, then we'll rally around who it is. But if we don't have one and we go to the convention, then we'll make the decision at that convention, and the delegates will decide. I'll have as good a chance as anybody.

Based upon the results of the primaries folks are moving away from this fraud. He still has some good people fooled but not for much longer. I cant think of a reason he is even in the race but it’s his choice. Maybe a TV show later? Another shady book deal maybe? How about a used car lot?

No, I completely agree that McCain is a POS. I won’t vote for him either. Hucklebee just gets under my skin. Especially those good-ol-boy similes and metaphors that he uses. I can’t take much more!

If you can assume that this info is representative of what the situation is today then Huckabee, uncommitted, or some other candidate/combination needs about 76% of the remaining available delegates in order to keep McCain from gaining the magic 1191 outright.

Source: http://www.thegreenpapers.com

"Soft" Delegates
(FL, MI, NH, SC, WY sanctioned)
Need to Nominate 1,191
(available) 1,102
J McCain 814
M Huckabee 215
M Romney 175
Uncommitted 41
R Paul 21
F Thompson 11
D Hunter 1
J Cox 0
R Giuliani 0
A Keyes 0
Total 2,380

I kind of agree, so...why should we care if the Huck gets under the POS McCain’s skin?

In fact, McCain damn deserves it. Won’t make any difference to me, I still won’t get behind, the Shamnesty open borders, Juan Hernandez employing, traitor McCain.

Who you going to vote for? I think I’ll write in Hunter.

I was for Hunter, then for the conservative “warrior” Fred, who folded like a cheap suit.

Now I am for anyone who isn’t Hillary, Obama, or McCain.

Isn’t it a wild and crazy thing? /s

Glad to see him pointing out that he is of the same generation as Obama. Obama is already attacking McCain as a Washington insider that would be more of the last eight years. Huckabee is the only outsider in the race who the Dems. can’t bludgeon with that. Huckabee still gives people a chance to vote for buyer remorse and keep McCain out.

I have been getting that all evening. I am in a heated argument with a homeschool mom who is offended that I wrote “i m a publik scewl teechur.” In the words of my students, she thought I was “furreal.” I am trying to convince her that it is a joke, even though she insists I’m an idiot and should not be molding young minds. Let me point out right now that her grammar is atrocious! Her only argument against me now is that I am too stupid to properly post because all of my posts are in triplicate.

On the contrary. When Huckabee has time between states to campaign , he proves to be quite successful. He closed the gap in Virginia in a mere three days, came within 3 points of beating McCain on McCain's home turf. People actually move toward Huckabee, every single time.
