Well, officially I69 construction (replacing US 59) has started, albeit, it doesn't appear to be the massive scope of the TTC (just normal Interstate size.) This is long needed on US 59, however, I can see how this could easily be shifted to larger scope TTC construction considering how much land has been cleared on either side in some places.

Other than people who are going to make big bucks off this thing, has there been a single meeting where the public approved?

Didn't think there would be any. Trans-Tex doesn't expect anyone to approve. They have to go through the motions of having public hearings and taking input. Doesn't matter what the input is. It isn't required that anyone should be in favor of it. Trucks and trains will run mainly through the plains regardless. It's a done deal. Be advised Trans-Tex is not asking permission for this. They are merely serving notice on what's coming down the pike - - literally.

Public hearings don’t accomplish “squat” and are meant only to feed the “Lemmings” feel good stew.
Elected officials in favor of this boondoggle should have been thrown out of office when firs mention of this scheme to fatten the wallets of the fat cats and political hacks came to light. Now it’s too late...the Camel’s nose, head and shoulders are already under the tent and he has no intention of leaving.
