Anti-McCain forces rally on the Web
Wash Times ^ | 2/13/08 | Steve Dinan

Posted on 02/13/2008 11:56:11 AM PST by pissant

The competition for anti-John McCain Web sites is so stiff that those looking to register new ones say the best names have already been snatched up.

"Virtually every one we thought of was taken," said Robert Shoemaker, who said his site RepublicansAgainstMaverickMcCain.com will go active this week. "The first one we wanted to do was Republicans Against McCain just short and sweet. That wasn't available, and we worked all the way around different labels we could use, none of them were available."

In the end Mr. Shoemaker, who held signs at last weekend's Conservative Political Action Conference protesting Mr. McCain's immigration policy, said he and his partners settled on the somewhat cumbersome name in order to preserve a version of the acronym RAM.

At last check StopMcCain.com, NoWayMcCain.com, ConservativesAgainstMcCain.com and RepublicansAgainstMcCain.com are all taken, as is IHateMcCain.com and the pointed VietnamVeteransAgainstJohnMcCain.com.

John McCain will be in no shape to perform the duties of the president. Senate business is already too exhausting for him. He will focus on his pet projects of amnesty and keeping OUR border open while derailing money to protecting borders of FOREIGN countries and doing the bidding of whoever it is that is pulling his strings. I watched him speak yesterday and he looks like he is about to collapse. His Supreme Court nominees will be identical to those of Obama and Hillary.

There is no reason for Republicans to support those who show no loyalty to their candidate and their party much less support those who actively betray both.

FOFLMAO.......you mean, like John McShamnesty, who has NO loyalty to the Republican platform, the Republican party itself, much less the conservative base who supported him and reelected him into office in Arizona?

Tom Delay On Faux "McCain Has Done More To Hurt The Party" [VIDEO WITH TOM DELAY]
Neil Cavuto: Alright, you said earlier, I hope I have this right, "If McCain gets the nomination, I don't know what I'll do. I might have to sit this one out." What did you mean?

Tom Delay: Well, Neil, I think McCain has done more to hurt the Republican Party than any elected official I know of. Starting with McCain-Feingold, has completed nuded the Republican Party, has violated the Constitution, has undermined our ability to participate in campaigns in an open and honest way; he has teamed up with the most liberal Democrats in the Senate, Kennedy, Feingold, Lieberman, even John Edwards. He has fought the Republican Party in everything that we've done. During the tax cuts we'd have had a much bigger tax cut if John McCain had voted with us. On the energy bill, we'd be drilling in ANWR today if...and John McCain, himself, killed our ability to drill in ANWR. He has done anything and everything to appeal to the media to make himself look like a maverick but be against what the Republican Party is for.....John McCain is not going to do anything to build the party or build the conservative movement or represent the conservative party of America.

2004 Republican Party Platform

No Liberal Leaders for Republican Party (David Limbaugh)

Sure, if I'm a paid staffer for McCain or a high-school debater forced to take the affirmative side of the proposition that McCain is a conservative, I can make a colorable case — intellectual honesty be damned — that he's a conservative. But I am under no such constraints.

Getting 50 endorsements from well-placed Republican officials or even respected conservatives doesn't make McCain conservative. Being a conservative makes one a conservative. I bet, truth be told, McCain can't even stand the word.

McCain: Surprisingly Liberal

McCain: "Clean Government" More Important Than 1st Amendment [video]

Transcribed:

McCain: "He also mentioned about my abridgment of First Amendment Rights, i.e., talking about Campaign Finance Reform. My response to that criticism is I work in Washington and I know that money corrupts and I and a lot of other people were trying to stop that corruption and obviously from what we’ve been seeing lately we didn’t complete the job. But...I would rather have a clean government than one whose quote First Amendment Rights are being respected that has become corrupt....if I had my choice I would rather have a clean government......[chuckle]"

Bill of Rights * Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting
an establishment of religion, or
prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or
abridging the freedom of speech, or
of the press; or
the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to
petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Threats? Why, I’m in no position to issue threats. My comments were simply observations, astute observations.

Not very astute at all. The very same thing was said when the party propped up Dole, and in regard to the second run of GHWB. Every time the base is dragged by the nose, the base just resorts to it's nuclear option. And every time, the Pubbies come crawling back, swearing eternal allegiance to conservative principles. The reason that is true is because there s no way for the party to win without the entire base. It cannot be done.

There is no reason for Republicans to support those who show no loyalty to their candidate and their party much less support those who actively betray both.

WE are the betrayers? It is the leadership that is betraying it's principles. It is the leadership that is not in accord with the social contract that defines us as conservatives and Republicans. It is their candidate, The Traitorous Bastard that is the ultimate betrayer.

Your statement does apply, but exactly in the reverse.

Hmmmmmm...how to calibrate our new (2007) friend, End Times Crusader?

Might be a McQueeg staffer. Or a party-above-principle Big Tent silk sock country club Republican. Or possibly merely a faux conservative.

You would rather lose the war, because some of your choices were not nominated. and so much for you pro lifers out there and the ones who are ticked because a lot of our federal judges legislate from the bench. Go against your own party because things didnt turn out the way you wanted them too How immature
