I like Elizabeth Dole and have defended the truth about her...that she is pro-life and NOT a Lib as has been repeatedly lied about on FR by people who hate anyone with the last name of Dole.
However, she is far too old.
McCain himself is too old, so you want to add an elderly female to the ticket? No, if female, it needs to be someone younger.
Some have mentioned Marsha Blackburn of TN. The only problem there is that she isn’t known at all outside of her area, unless by those few who closely follow the House on CSpan.

Unfortunately the answer is yes, were it not for conservatives. In fact, the situation is similar to the California recall of 2003. Partisans voted for a liberal because of fear of an unelectable cultural separatist.
Today, the two Democrat front runners are both unelectable. One because of the damage she imposed on our national psyche and the other because of the inherent racism that still exists in the US today. But alas, just as in 2003, the Republicans could pi$$ away a golden opportunity on the likes of the John McCain. Tragic!
There are still almost 6 months until the nominating convention in September. Plenty of time replace McCain with a candidate more representative of the party's base and platform. November won't be cake walk, but a conservative of middling abilities could beat either of the two unelectable Democrats.
