I watched a show on the history channel about the T-34 in WWII. A T-34 crewman was talking about what they were given in rations. (I'm paraphrasing the amounts) 300 grams of bread per person, 1 litre of vodka per tank, canned vegetables, 100 grams of butter per tank, and canned meat. (the following is a direct quote from the Soviet tanker) "If we were very lucky, the canned meat given to us was SPAM from America, that was delicious!"
