(CNN) Mike Huckabee continued to cry foul Monday over the results in Saturdays Washington State GOP caucuses, saying the state party chairman's decision to call the race there early for John McCain is reminiscent of elections in communist bloc nations.
"That is not what we do in American elections," Huckabee said on CNN's American Morning Monday. "Maybe that's how they used to conduct it in the old Soviet Union, but you don't just throw people's votes out and say, 'well, we're not going to bother counting them because we kind of think we know where this was going.'
In a statement released Sunday, Huckabee's campaign said Washington's GOP Party Chairman Luke Esser called the race for McCain when Huckabee was only losing to the Arizona senator by 242 votes and over 1,500 votes remained to be counted. Esser has said he remains confident he made the right call.

Don’t sweat it, Mike. The vote was kinda’ like your economic policies.
Really.
Pot: Hey kettle you are black.
Kettle: Whaa, I wanna be blue.
Count all the votes!
Go Huckabee!

In the second round McCain threw his delegates to Huckabee, they did not refuse to tally the votes.
In Washington the concern is that they simply quit counting votes and went home, although the margin was tiny.
Geez...calm down, Mike. The vote didn’t even mean anything substantive anyway.
Fine, whatever. You know what the winner of the final vote count gets? A little publicity. That's it. No delegates.
Yeah....kinda like what you did with McCain in West Virginia....HA.
IT WASN’T VOTING!!!!!!!!!! It was the temperature taking....THE “votes” MEAN NOTHING! We don’t have our State Convention until late May, when the DELEGATES are CHOSEN!
Exactly right!
This is, in essence, a straw poll. Huck is using it to keep his name out there. This is just silly.
You might as well join the rest of the Republican voters in this 2008 election for POTUS. Here's a sugestion to make it easier Mikey!!
What the hell does that have to do with anything, the man wants every vote counted.
Stop acting like a 2 year old dunce for a second.
It is my understanding that the Washington had enough information so they stopped counting. The remaining votes not counted simply did not matter. Huckabee is whining over bragging rights, which is none of the State of Washington’s concern.
It’s not silly. You put out a fire as soon as you can. You don’t wait until the building burns down. Today it’s Huckabee and Ron Paul’s votes that aren’t counted. Soon it could be Hillary....”13% of the counties (or states) are still out but she is ahead, people are tired so we just called it for her”.
In our caucus, I stood up when the lead woman asked if any one had a motions that they wanted to be brought forward and suggested that we withhold all our delegates from McCain until the GOP party leaders change the primary system so that WA voters are never disenfranchised by our own party, again. I received a round of applause, and the largest block of voters checked the undecided block.
The woman who was conducting the caucus said that it couldn’t be changed because it was up to the individual states. I said that the Democrat Party manages to control the states by not counting their delegates. We could do the same thing. We could also set requirements for prior party registration. Independents and late registrants can vote, but their votes won’t count toward delegates. They get a different ballot.
After the caucus, Doug Erikson, our state legislator, told me that he heard what I said about the primary and he agreed that they system is broken and needs to be fixed. He said that he would bring it up with the other Republican legislators.
Keep wavin' those pompoms!
