Oh no! I hadn't heard that.I knew Connie some years ago and counted him as a friend.
He used to jam with Balaban and Katz,a Dixieland group led by Leonard "Red" Balaban. Connie usually showed up with "Wild Bill" Davidson and his wife. This was in the NYC-North Jersey area back in the late 60's, early 70's.
He was a great guy.
